The Jackson zoo is located in Jackson, Mississippi. When the Zoo first opened, it consisted of a cage of rabbits, some fireman's pets, and a few native Mississippi species, such as fox, squirrel, deer and rabbits. Now with 120 different species and 776 animals in total, the Jackson Zoo offers and exciting opportunity to learn about the creatures of the world.

Of the 120 species, the Jackson Zoo is home to 14 endangered species, including Snow Leopards, Sumatran Tigers, and African Elephants.

The Jackson Zoo is dedicated to ensuring the survival of animal species in the wild. While at the Zoo, students may learn more about conservation and respecting the natural habitats of all creatures.
