The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is located in Jackson, Mississippi. The Museum's goal is to preserve Mississippi's landscape and all who call it home.
There are 2.5 miles of nature trails that provide an excellent site to explore Mississippi's natural landscape.
Over 200 living species may be found in the Museum's aquarium, located inside the building. The newest aquarium dweller is the green moray eel, which may be recognized by its blue skin and yellow slime!
Horticulture fans may enjoy spending time in the Museum's greenhouse, named "The Swamp," that features plants indigenous to Mississippi. The Museum also boasts the largest single reference for Mississippi vertebrate animals and freshwater mussels in existence.
New to the Museum is the "Dinosaurs!" exhibit, which opened in May 2008. The exhibit allows dinosaurs to come to live, as the robotic creatures are free to roam.
